Keswick was founded by Klaus Schwerdtfeger, a capital markets professional with nearly five decades of experience across European financial markets.
Mocatta Group
Klaus began his career in London at Mocatta Group, a leading bullion broker and member of both the London Metal Exchange and the London Bullion Market.
Northern Europe Network
He later became a partner in a brokerage firm specialising in industrial metals trading, where he built a strong network across Northern Europe. During this period he worked closely with major Scandinavian industrial companies including Norsk Hydro, Boliden, Axel Johnson, Outokumpu and Nokia, developing long-standing relationships within Nordic industry and financial markets.
Corporate Advisory
He transitioned into corporate advisory, focusing on helping growth companies access European capital markets.
Keswick
After being invited by the Vienna Stock Exchange to serve as a Capital Markets Coach, he established the advisory platform that later developed into Keswick.
Leadership Today
The firm is led by Klaus Schwerdtfeger together with Tristan Baele, who heads the firm's Barcelona office. Tristan brings experience from investment banking and private equity across several international financial centres. He has advised on M&A transactions in Amsterdam, Brussels, and Barcelona and has worked on private equity investments from Silicon Valley into Europe. Together they oversee Keswick's advisory mandates and maintain close senior involvement in every transaction.
The firm advises corporations, alternative investment funds, and growth companies across more than ten European markets. Keswick works closely with founders and management teams to structure and execute capital markets transactions that support long-term growth.
Over the past decade, the firm has advised more than 50 corporate and investment funds on complex capital markets transactions and strategic financing initiatives.

Klaus Schwerdtfeger has been active in the financial industry since 1975 and is the Founder of Keswick AG. He began his career as an LME trader at Mocatta Group / Standard Chartered Bank before working as a commodity derivatives trader at Man Financial. He currently serves as Chairman and Board Member of several investment companies.

Tristan Baele is an investment banking and private equity professional with experience at leading financial institutions. He has advised on M&A transactions in Amsterdam, Brussels, and Barcelona, as well as on cross-border private equity investments from Silicon Valley into Europe. He holds a Master’s degree in European Studies from the University of Oxford and a Master’s degree in Finance from Oxford Brookes University
